How to use Curvilift Plugin in Sketchup

Curviloft curviloft

 

Using Curviloft you can extrude multiples (lines or faces) to create complex shape very easily in sketchup.

There are three different options to loft the geometry

loft-by-spline Loft by spline (Create loft junctions between surfaces based on spline curves)
loft-along-path Loft along path (Create loft junctions on given path)
skinning Skinning (Create smooth mash on given nested lines)

Loft by spline loft-by-spline 

To get started you need 2 or more line’s profiles.
► (Manual Selection) Click on this button & select the all profiles respectively.
► (Pre-Selection) Select all profiles and click on tool icon (Note: May possible Pre-Selection not work prefect for you.)
► Press Enter key to continue in preview mode.

► In preview mode you can easily modify geometry using this toolbox.

► You can use this toolbox2 option for closing all contours into one loop.( in some conditions)

Spline Method  toolbox

►Junctions by straight lines.
► Bezier curve – Direct contour to contour (Method 1).
► Bezier curve – Respect tangency (Method 2).
► Junctions by orthogonal Bezier curve.
► Junctions by orthogonal Elliptic curve.
► Smooth Junctions by a single catmull curve.
► Smooth Junctions by a single cubic Bezier curve.
►Smooth global Junctions by a single F–Spline curve.
► Smooth global Junctions by a single B–Spline curve.

Vx Matching vx-matching

Method for matching vertices between two contours. (In some conditions)
► Match vertex to vertex (if possible)
►Curve-linear vertex matching
►Non linear vertex matching (Spline type)
► Non linear vertex matching (Bezier type)
► Orientate contours to their best fit box

Options for geometry generation

► Generate the Junctions edges (without any face)
► Generate the intermediate edges (without any face)
► Generate the surfaces with pseudo quads
► Generate the surfaces with pseudo quads (opposite pseudo quads)
► Generate the junctions as Sketchup curves (far interactive deformation) Note: it may take lone time

Properties of the edited junction.

While you’re in preview mode, click anywhere in the black part of the model to open the Properties of the edited junction window.

Twist

You can also twist the geometry using this option in the “Properties of the edited junction window.”

►You can also edit the individual single vertex matching by selecting and dragging vertices.

►When you satisfied in preview mode just press enter key or click on empty space to see the sketchup geometry.

Loft along path loft-along-path

►(Manual Selection) First select the path and press enter key (it should be highlighted in red color) then select the all profiles respectively.

►(Pre-Selection) Select all profiles and path and then click on this icon (Note: May possible Pre-Selection not work prefect for you.)

►Press Enter key to continue in preview mode.

►You can also modify geometry as well as in “Loft by spline” but method options is completely different here.

There are there different methods

►Offset contours along the rail

►Sweep rail between contours (with rotation)

►Stretch rails between contours (default)

Different Method

►When you satisfied in preview mode just press enter key or click on empty space to see the sketchup geometry.

Skinning skinning

Skinning allow you to make smooth mash on multiples closed loops of lines.

►Select all closed loops of lines and click on this button

►Press Enter key to continue in preview mode.

►Modify geometry if you want using toolbox and “Properties of the edited junction window.”

►Press enter to see sketchup geometry
